Few things have engendered as much debate in the photography world as Fusion. It seems to have polarized the photography community into two camps – those who love it and those who hate it. And while I am sure that the majority of photographers actually fall somewhere in the middle, the vocal minority has kept a lively debate alive!
So what is Fusion? At it’s simplest, it is the blend of still photographs, video, audio and music into a multimedia peice.
But things are rarely that simple.
The debate seems to center on the idea of photographers becoming videographers and vice versa. The lines have been blurring for a while, but it was a relatively slow change. And then the Canon 5D MkII came alone and really turned the photography (and videography) world on its ear! Like it or hate it, it seems that Fusion is something that we are all going to have to learn about. And then, once learned, we can choose where and how or even if we want to adopt this technology into our own coverage. Knowing about this technology, and others like it, will allow us all to make informed decisions about where to go from here.

We’re looking forward to moving forward with each of you, into these new waters.

This is an advanced example of mixing stills, audio, video and music from an entire wedding day, into a short presentation. We filmed select portions of the entire wedding day, and then edited the audio and video into the still coverage.
